The concept of “voice” is harder for a blogger to nail down than one might think.
It took me almost two years of blogging before my “official” voice and niche were realized.
There are two ways to find your blogging voice:
- Choose the voice you want to use, based on what you want to become known for.
- Test the waters, and let your readers choose for you.
The former offers your readers consistency right from the start.
The latter offers you the opportunity to discover your authenticity – the aspects of your personality and writing style your readers connect with most.
Below is a Halloween-inspired infographic to help you define your voice as a blogger.
You’ll find that either you wholeheartedly fit under one category, or certain elements are more important to you over others (in which case, you can choose your own candy!).
Happy Halloween from everyone at Social Caffeine!
