Team Caffeine’s Bold Blend is our Friday boost of inspiration to help you kick start your weekend.
This is content we’ve hand picked from across the Internet because it gives us a buzz we know you’ll love too.
In this week’s round-up:
- Silent Video Ads Coming to Facebook (TechCrunch)
- Facebook Ads are Getting Bigger (Mashable)
- Twitter Files for IPO (The Telegraph)
The big news this week – announced, of course, in 140 characters – is Twitter’s plans to file for an IPO. Analysts estimate the micro-blogging platform will fetch around $10 billion.
What can we expect post-IPO? Our money’s on more sponsored tweets, and a stronger tie-up with live TV.
The Telegraph has the full story here.
Meanwhile, Facebook is upping it’s game on ads, making them even bigger. News feed ad images will now be up to 3.5x larger than they used to be. Mashable has the full story.
Facebook has also started testing video ads, as reported by TechCrunch.
Comments on both Mashable and TechCrunch are testy, ranging from “Facebook is heading for the trash pile” to “That’s why I wasn’t clicking [any ads] they clearly weren’t obnoxious enough.”
Facebook obviously thinks there’s something in it. What’s your take on the changes?
That’s all folks. Until next week, keep it buzzing!
